One thing that is a challenge is to get the students to pray their prayers daily. Last year I tried giving them a weekly prayer sheet.
On the back is a place for their parents to sign that they did their prayers.
If the student brings back a signed prayer sheet they can earn 1 or 2 tokens (1 if they only did half the days, 2 for more) which they could use to
"purchase" prizes. Finding prizes the students were interested in was a bit challenging but I did end up with more students knowing their prayers at the end of the year
than in previous years. Here are the prayer sheets that I used. They are Word docs so they can be modified. If you need a PDF, let me know.
Initial sheet: Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary and Gory Be.
2nd Prayer sheet: addition of the Guardian Angel Prayer and the 7 sacraments
3rd Prayer sheet: addition of the Prayer Before Meals
4th Prayer sheet: addition of the Prayer After Meals
5th Prayer sheet: addition of the Ten Commandments
6th Prayer sheet: addition of the Act of Contrition
